What is Sound Therapy?
Sound Therapy is the practice of practice of using different sounds in specific ways to improve your health and wellbeing.
The method of sound therapy I use is devised by the British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST). It combines therapeutic sound techniques that have been shown to be very effective to improve health and wellbeing. It brings calmness to the body and mind, helping to achieve a state of deep relaxation.
The use of Himalayan Singing Bowls, Gong, Crystal Bowls and gentle chimes and percussion provides an immersive bath of sound, which can enable you to enter into a deeply relaxed, nearly sleep-like state called an Altered State of Consciousness (ASC). It is a bit like a daydream, which allows the mind and body to rest. This can have a wide range of benefits. You can read more about the benefits of on the BAST website.

A sound bath is suitable for most people, but not those who suffer from seizures, epilepsy, heart conditions or if you are in the first trimester of pregnancy. If you are unsure if a sound bath is for you, contact me to discuss your requirements.

I hold regular sound baths, see the Events page for more details.
Group Sound Baths
Take time out from the stresses of modern life.
A sound bath is an effective way to provide your well-being balance. A sound bath can help you feel refreshed and grounded.
Group Drum Journeys
I also hold group Drum Journeys, which are similar to sound baths. You experience the resonant pulse of the buffalo drum to grain deep insight and relaxation. It is one of the most ancient forms of sound therapy. Research has shown that this traditional approach of deep relaxation can help reduce physical, emotional and mental stress and tension.
Community Drum Circle
Drum Circles are a way to express ourselves without having to perform. You don't need to know how to play the drums. It is a fun way to help with your self expression, enabling you to communicate without using words and should help you physically, emotionally and mentally.
Workshop Facilitation
The Narrative soundscape is a participative session where you get to play instruments to release unwanted beliefs. It acts as great therapy for confidence, bereavement, divorce, job loss, mid-life crises and many other situations.
No music playing experience is required.
Shake, Rattle and Fun
Interactive sessions for youth groups. Drumming has an 'in-the-moment' impact, which helps with reality orientation and self-awareness. This session provides a safe space for the participants to express themselves non-verbally. We use many forms of hand drums and percussion to provide interest.
Additional Activities
Public Talks
I am also keen to share my passion for sound therapy and am an engaging public speaker. If you think your group would like to book a sound therapy talk please contact me.

Private Sound Baths
I can also provide a private bath for up to 4 people for £50 (plus travel if outside of Chippenham, Wiltshire). This is a lovely way to get together with family or friends to collectively unwind and feel restored.
